To start of NAT Configurator
Already Using IP
and
Keeping Your Addresses
If the IP Addresses that you are using do not "belong to you," then
the NAT will hide your usage of these addresses from the outside world.
The only negative about this, is that you will never be able to
contact "the real owners" of those addresses. This is probably not
an issue for you.
Information We Will Need
We will soon need an IP Address for the NAT interface that will
be attached to your internal "Private" network. In addition, we will need
the "netmask" that you are using in that network. Since you are
very likely the network administrator for your organization, you
will be able to give us that information. If you are not the
administrator, you will need to get that information for us.
We will also need the same information for the NAT interface that will
be attached to the external "Public" network. In addition, we will
need the IP Address of the router on the external network that will
be the default gateway to the Internet.
Refer to the picture at left to help envision this.
